Distil has worked across NSW Wine's social media marketing since 2021 and was asked to work with the NSW Wine board on the organisation's rebranding in 2023. The new branding was announced in June 2023 at NSW Sommelier's Wine List Awards.
To create a timeless, memorable and easily recognisable brand identity that represents New South Wales' diverse winemakers.
It needed to have a clear association to wine; represent the innovation of the regions; and being able to stand the test of time.
The logo itself represents grapes, the state's shape and the hills across the regions and was paired with a heavy sans serif typeface to ensure legibility and impact.
By using a classic yet vibrant colour palette, comprised of deep reds and bright yellows through to earthy green and soft cream, we were able to reflect the different aspects of winemaking and varying landscapes of NSW wine regions and the move toward more sustainable industry practices.
The new brand identity is easily recognisable and distinctive for NSW Wine and sits nicely next to the organisation's other brands.
The diverse colour palette and distinctive shapes allow for creative executions, while still being timeless and professional.
